This last year has been a very busy time at GB Labs. At IBC 2010 we introduced amongst other things, Chris Luff who joined us to set up the reseller chain within the UK. In the following months Chris used his wealth of experience in the reseller world to target a small band of companies who actually knew the market and who had experience in both speccing and installing complex SAN solutions. We didnt want the "scatter gun" approach taken with most of our competitors by allowing everyone to resell there products which seems cause problems for the end user as the wrong kit is often specified !
To date our UK resellers have more than tripled the initial targets and this has shown no sign of stopping. We have also opened an office in Los Angeles and have appointed the finest distributor to represent us in Australasia. To tackle the huge demand for Space products we had to recruit additional staff in sales, marketing, engineering and programming. With the demand for kit and the additional headcount we rapidly ran out of "Space" ourselves so scratched our collective heads and bought the unit next door.
In the new highly polished GB Labs towers we now have an additional engineering/programming floor but most importantly a large dedicated meeting/demo facility which has the entire Space family linked to an army of Mac Pros all running the latest offerings from Apple, Avid and Adobe. This facility is free for all our resellers to use for testing, customer demos or open days.
With IBC 2011 looming it brings to an end a crazy year, we have some amazing new products to show as well as a global presence of resellers and specialists to look after the post production and broadcast world.
